THE ART OF LEMONADE

So it is said, in the good book, that a man and woman should wed.
Well, all I wonder, if the good Lord did encounter a southern woman, when he declared that command.

I do believe, I was spoon fed from my dear Mama, that all southern women were the most charming.
Indeed, there is no denying that the strongest man will feel weak in his knees in his first encounter.

There she was in front of her Bella home, her name was Nelly Lee.
Sir, you look like a gentleman, could you assist me on holding this ladder, while I get my kitty.
I ran like a fool to help her out while deep inside I knew she was capable of climbing that ladder herself.
She looked as innocent as the kitten in the tree.

Helpless, is the first charm they use on a man.
The second charm was soon to come. Nelly said, I chose you because your arms look so strong.
Her cheeks blushed as if she was embarrassed by what came out of her mouth.
I became melted butter in a pan.

Now you all be careful as you climb that tree, Nelly said, I could not forgive myself if you fell.
I would've climbed a thousand trees for Nelly but, of course she already figured that out.
By the time she worked the third charm, I was spellbound.
The kitty scratched my nose and my hand. Nelly insisted that we go into the house and she would take care of my wounds.
Bless your heart, oh bless your heart, you look a mess and then she proceeded to laugh and laugh. There is no better cure than a woman's laugh.

Well, the third charm was more than I could possibly resist and so I am most happily wed.
Nelly Lee pours sugar into my lemonade. My blessed marriage is sour, yet so sweet.
Signed a contented southern gentleman, sincerely charmed.
